Streetcar has a fleet of new VW Golfs on the streets of London, Brighton and Southampton for rent by the hour, day, week or month.

• How does it work?
  1) Book your car by phone or online
  2) Unlock the car with your Streetcar 'Streetcard'
  3) Type a unique PIN into the dashboard
  4) Use the car as if it's your own
• To rent a car through Streetcar costs:
  1 hour: £4.95
  24 hours (weekdays): £35
  24 hours (weekends): £49.50
  5 days (Monday to Friday): £150
  7 days: £195
  30 days: £695

In October 2006, the RAC's Cost of Motoring Index revealed that the average car now costs more than £5,500 per year to run, up by £539 from the previous year. These costs, which include depreciation, insurance and maintenance, could be a thing of the past if you join Streetcar.

Streetcar can vastly improve your environmental performance in relation to transport. Studies show that car sharing can result in up to 6 cars being taken off the road for every car shared.

Membership of Streetcar is FREE, just pay a fully refundable £150 deposit and then just pay whenever you use a vehicle. Petrol is included up to 30 miles per day, after which a charge of 19p per mile is applied.
