These are connected to a radiator to control the flow of hot water into the radiator. As the room heats up to a preset temperature, the valve will gradually close reducing the amount of heat given out. As the room requires more heat, the valve opens allowing more hot water in to the radiator which gives out more heat.
Fitting thermostatic radiator valves will allow you to control the temperature accurately in each room where they are fitted.
